Getting ready for the Oakley KING of GREENS

On Monday 27 July the Oakley KING of GREENS 2015 kicked off at the stunning A-Rosa Scharmützelsee Resort, on the outskirts of Berlin. Stars from across the world of action sports, including snowboarder Devun Walsh, freeskier TJ Schiller, surfer Alan Riou and bike legend Cedric Gracia put their irons to the test on the 18 hole links course and shared the wisdom some of Europe’s top am players to master what is reputed to be the most challenging green in Germany.

Designed by world champion and hero of the Ryder Cup Sir Nick Faldo the course is characterized by its Scottish links-style layout, 133 deep pothole bunkers, dune-like fairways and lightning-fast contoured greens. Tipped to host the 2022 Ryder Cup and with a string of A-list contests under its belt it will challenge the Oakley KING of GREENS players to the max.

Luckily some of the best am golfers from across Austria and Germany including Austrian Team player Lea Zeitler were on hand to decipher the complexities of the course for the five teams of Bike, Skate, Surf, Snowboard and Ski. Their well-honed skills are sure to prove invaluable as the teams swing it out on the main event day on the 28th , battling for the treasured Oakley KING of GREENS Team Challenge and the individual KING of GREENS’ crown and an exclusive Nixon watch.

Additional awards will also include a prize for the best am player of the tournament and an overall gross score prize.

After a hard day’s work, everyone was enjoying a delicious BBQ sponsored by A-JA Resorts. What better way to prepare for the tournament could you think of?

With a fine forecast for the main event and the players tooled up and ready to cross irons on this incredible golf course the gathered crowd is sure to get a day of exemplary golf action from the Oakley KING of GREENS action heroes.

Let play commence!
